| Reinforcement for bituminous membranes |
|
Terbond R is a spunbonded polyester nonwoven reinforced with glass filaments in machine direction, available in numerous versions with different weights. Thanks to its state-of-the-art spun plants with sophisticated technology, the Group has been able to create a spunbonded product which satisfies the technical specifications of the most demanding markets. The glass reinforcement is an additional advantage of the Terbond R range, placing it at the top end of the market where it is unrivalled in performance terms. The combination of the flexibility of polyester with the stability of glass not only allows excellent runnability of the nonwoven, especially at high temperatures and when used on high-speed bitumen lines, but also gives the bituminous membrane outstanding dimensional stability and resistance over time. Using the glass reinforcement also eliminates the phenomenon of thermal memory: once applied to roofs, the membrane is not subject to shrinkage due to temperature changes.
